Widget Addition

ScreenCasts

The following are ScreenCasts that will likely help a LOT to explain how to add the widget and how the site works.

The best way to know how to do this is by Add Badge Widget Demonstration.

Demonstration of Adding Badge and Widget to a WordPress.com Blog

If you are debating on adding the keyword widget - see Keywords Are Cool.

Footer

You will find a footer that looks like this on the bottom of each page.

You can find the badge and the two widgets at the bottom of each page on the site.  The graphic above shows the three links.

Badge

The steps are:

  1. Choose your blog from the drop down list.
  2. Select and copy the resulting HTML code.
  3. Go to your blog and add the HTML code to the appropriate place in your sidebar.

Search Form

  1. Choose your blog from the drop down list.
  2. Select and copy the resulting HTML code.
  3. Go to your blog and add the HTML code to the appropriate place in your sidebar.

Keyword Widget

  1. Choose your blog from the drop down list.
  2. Adjust any options you want to adjust
  3. Click Generate Code
  4. Select and copy the resulting HTML code.
  5. Go to your blog and add the HTML code to the appropriate place in your sidebar.

Notes:

  1. You must add this as HTML code.  Thus, choose the appropriate type on your blogging platform.
  2. If you are hosted on Wordpress.com, i.e., if your blog's URL is XXXX.wordpress.com - then you cannot include JavaScript.  Thus, choose the No JavaScript option on the Keyword Widget.
